Analysis of the Ukrainian system of monuments protection, including the state of conservation of World Heritage properties in Ukraine on the basis of the Second Cycle of Periodic Reports on the implementation of the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage (1972). Determining the actual challenges and needs for management of World Heritage in Ukraine, making suggestions for further improvement and increase of the efficiency of protection measures, in particular, by the example of the World Heritage Property "Kyiv, Saint Sophia Cathedral and the Related Monastic Buildings, Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra".
