The aim of the research is to find out the regularity and dynamics of the semantic evolution of the verbs of speaking, beginning from the Indo-European language, during the different stages of Latin language functioning (romance language-model) to the modern state of romance languages; is creating the model of semantic-syntactic functioning and establishing common and distinctive features of OVs in English, Latvian, German, Russian and Ukrainian; to discover the word-formation potential of dynamic and spatial localization verbs, as well as structural and semantic typology of verbal formations in the Slavic languages. The used research methods: descriptive method, that allows to conduct the inspection of the deverbals at a synchronic cut as means of taking an inventory of the verbs of speaking and explanation of their formation features and functioning in synchrony; the comparative one, which is used during the process of the comparison of the Slavic formative verbs of dynamic spatial localization and their derivatives; the method of componential analysis that allowed to analyse the components of lexical and word-formation semantics to form the data by the analysis of semantic structure of the verbs of speaking; the method of transformation by means of which the sampling of syntactic correlates is carried out as well as semantic and syntactic relations are determined among their components; the typological one for the classification of the different structure language facts concerning the expression of the verbs of speaking semantics; comparative and historical method for the establishment of the genetic cognation and study of historical development of the analysed language phenomena; the etymological one for the origin determination and interpretation of semantic evolution vector of lexemes under study; the method of immediate constituents is applied to determine the structural organization of the units analysed; the one of the quantitative analysis that allowed to objectively define and compare the productivity of structural and semantic types of the units. The scientific novelty of the work consists in the stem-centered approach during the analysis of the word-formation of the Slavic languages which has been realized for the first time, the derivational problems related to it are formulated and solved.
