Description

The paper described and illustrated with photographs the results of assembly and testing systems of cyclotron CV-28 (ion guide and ion-optical elements). The possibility of obtaining streams of fast neutrons using deuteron and proton beams at cyclotron CV-28 with different neutron generator targets was examined. Maximum intensity of the neutron flux for cyclotron CV-28 was determined. Angular and energy distributions of obtained neutrons were considered. It is shown that neutron therapy of cancer can be implemented by using neutron beams at cyclotron CV-28. Production of medical radioisotopes in the fields of fast neutrons at cyclotron CV-28 is possible mainly in small quantities, which are insufficient for medical use.
