The subject of scientific technical work is the process of heat transfer during condensation of steam in the middle of plancoulaine tubes of radiator sections of the locomotive, the process of heating of air during operation of the centrifugal fan, the physical and chemical properties of the coolant (antifreeze) of cooling systems of motor vehicles in operation. The goal of the work is to increase the efficiency of the locomotive by reducing the energy consumption of the cooling system of a diesel engine by changing the functional circuit and method of heat transfer, namely, the application of phase transitions coolant: boiling and condensation, aerodynamic heating of the air. Research of the antifreeze quality of various domestic and foreign manufacturers represented on the Ukrainian market and experimental studies of changes in key indicators of quality and conductivity of the coolant depending on the amount of fuel consumed, creating a mathematical model forecasting period of antifreeze changes. Study method is the systematic approach, which includes: mathematical modeling of processes using differential equations and numerical methods of integration; the use of the classical equations and the basic provisions of the theory of heat and mass transfer, theory of probability and similarity; the application of methods of experimental design and mathematical statistics, full-scale, bench, laboratory and performance testing using proven methodologies established by GOST, DSTU standards. An experimental system that allows us to investigate the thermal performance of diesel radiator sections and other radiators in the mode of steam condensers is created. Selected rational coolant for use of phase transitions: azeotropic solution of water (81,8%) and aniline C6H5NH2 (18,2%) with a boiling point of 75 °C; non-flammable; corrosive and chemically active. Designed cooling system of diesel locomotive using coolant boiling and condensation in the radiator sections. The proposed cooling system of diesel locomotives is also a promising foundation for heat accumulation systems with clear advantages compared to the standard cooling system. The system of aerodynamic heating of the air to the cab of the vehicle is developed. Developed software for calculation of heat transfer coefficient during condensation of the movable pair inside plancoulaine tubes of radiator sections of the locomotive, taking into account the geometrical parameters and the temperature of the tube wall, the hydrodynamic parameters of the flow of both phases, physical and chemical properties of the coolant, the heat distribution in the elementary layers of threads in both phases, will significantly reduce the complexity and cost of research and development work, as well as expand the scope of the search for new design solutions. The new technical solutions for improving the basic elements of the cooling system of diesel locomotives, air conditioning systems cabins of vehicles were proposed. The analysis of the main requirements of DSTU, TU standards of the main indicators of quality of clean and waste antifreeze from domestic and foreign production on the market of Ukraine was held. The existing methods of determining the quality of the antifreeze were analyzed. A method for determining the products of corrosion in waste antifreeze and method for determining the electrical conductivity of antifreeze was developed. Experimental studies of the influence of temperature, density of the antifreeze, concentration of the products of corrosion on changing its conductivity were held. The antifreeze quality diagnostic method on electric physical indicator and a device for determining the electrical conductivity of the coolant was developed. Experimental studies of the antifreeze quality indicators changes in the operation from the amount of consumed fuel. The acceptance indicators antifreeze quality has been defined. Mathematical models forecasting period of antifreeze changes has been developed. The obtained results can be applicated in diesel locomotive and motor transportation companies, service stations replacing the antifreeze with the actual state in the operation of vehicles.
