The methods of coating has been Improved, the equipment automated and the technology of gas detonation deposition (GDD) of various kinds of bioactive ceramic nanostructured coatingson surgical implants have been developed. The materials for coatings include different kinds of calciumphosphates, bioglasses, bioactive glass-ceramics, composites and multi-layer coatings. Their structure, chemical and phasecomposition, mechanical, biological and other properties have been investigated. The methods of deposition of the coatingson different metals, ceramics, glass, plastics, implant sofvarious designs have been developed. Ithas been shown that GDD coatings are superior in many parameters to other coatings for medicine. The experimental demonstration party of implants with bioactive ceramic coatings have been manufactured
