The trigliceryde content was specifically decreased in seeds of mutant Arabidopsis plants with PC-PLC3 knockout, indicating PC-PLC3 implication in lipid synthesis. Brassinosteroids stipulated the increase in storage oil content and seed productivity of tobacco plants in salt stress conditions. The implication of calcium ions in triglyceride content regulation has been demonstrated in plants.
