The object of study is building norms which set the rules for the design of new and the reconstruction of existing permanent bridges and culverts on the roads and railways. The subject of study is a set of building design norms for bridges and culverts design and their compliance with modern requirements for bridges and culverts. The purpose of study is to review existing DBN V.2.3-22:2009 "Bridges and culverts. Basic design requirements" by taking into account the requirements of current legislation, applicable building norms, standards and requirements for modern transport facilities. Building norms establish basic requirements and regulations which should be followed at the design of bridges and culverts that meet their functional purpose and have a reliability level that ensures safe operation during the project life.
