The project is devoted to the development of approaches for solving organizational and economic problems of increasing the role of science and innovation in the process of modernization of the Ukrainian economy on the basis of improving corresponding methodical foundations and preparation of appropriate recommendations on the implementation of mechanism of adaptation of the national system of evaluation of S &T and innovation activity in the terms of enhancing of the European integration processes. As part of this task, the evaluation scientific & technological and innovation activity in developed countries have been analyzed, first of all in EU countries (Community Innovation Scoreboard and corresponding sector "scoreboards", etc.) with the utilization of modern systems of integrated indicators; the possibility of implementation of such systems in Ukraine have been studied and recommendations for changes in the relevant statistical questionnaires and procedures for data collecting and processing are proposed; corresponding calculations, which allow to make an appropriate comparative analysis of the development of science and innovation in Ukraine and in the European countries, have been performed; practical recommendations to the evaluation of the level of internationalization of S&T organizations have been proposed. This opens the way to further integration of the Ukrainian research institutions into the European and global scientific & technological area
