The object of the study is some semantic and expressive features in different types of English discourse, multilingual approach in teaching foreign languages and methods of solving multi-culturological problems in English-speaking world picture. The purpose of the research is to create scientifically grounded and empirically tested principles for the study of the components of some English-language discourses and their implementation in the educational process in the English department in terms of the multilingual approach and the principle of intercultural competence development in philological students. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that it. Defines the meaning of a separate lexical unit depending on its linguistic environment. Using authentic sources has a definite positive effect on better mastery of a foreign language, and provides students with valuable information about the history and traditions of the country, whose language they study, provides an understanding of modern lifestyle of people and thus develops not only multilingual but also intercultural competence. The results and findings of the research can be used in education to enhance lexical, discursive and cultural competence of students, in drawing up training programs, in preparation of elective courses, testing, seminars and сlasses in English, lexicology, stylistics, linguistic and country studies, multilingual education.
