The automated equipment for measuring the surface potential (work function) by Kelvin method under reduced pressure was developed. Test samples of thin metal films were manufactured. The analytical relations for the components of the conductivity tensor and the solution of Maxwell's equations in the field of an electromagnetic wave and results of calculations of reflection and absorption coefficients were received. Algorithm for the numerical calculation of the poles of the S-matrix scattering and finding the width of quasistationary levels were created and CVC bare metal quantum dot was calculated. Self-consistent calculations of the vacancy formation energy, the work functions of the positron and positronium atom in vacancies of metals were held. The results of research were implemented in the educational process and publications. Prediction of proposals for the development of research objects - application in the development of advanced optical technology, nano- and pico electronics.
