Objective: To identify and substantiate the theoretical and practical principles, strategies, patterns of action models the impact of subject-methodical competence of the teacher in the formation of student competencies in the field of "Social Science" in the educational reform. Methods: dialectical, formal logic, statistical method, system analysis, modeling, questioning. Recommendations for the use of the third stage of the research experimental work: acquaint teachers of Mykolaiv region with the experiment's results; implement into practice of training teachers of Mykolaiv region the model of influence of a teacher's subject-methodic competence on the formation of students' capacity in the sphere of Social Studies under the circumstances of educational reformation; extend the perspective teacher's experience; continue the development of scientific and practical problems of teacher training under the circumstances of educational reformation. The significance of the work and conclusions: Criteria for the formation of a professional teacher, endowed with the appropriate competencies for teaching students social studies in high school in the context of innovation.
