The report presents the methodological development of the principles of morphological and functional ecology of aquatic vegetation to the task of monitoring the ecological status of the class of marine ecosystems and management practices of priority Azov-Black Sea coastal ecosystems in accordance with the requirements of the Water Framework Directive and the EU Marine Strategy. The description of new morphological and functional indicators for all the life forms of aquatic vegetation and rating scales determine the environmental status of the class and transit coastal ecosystems Ukrainian sector of the Black Sea. The results of the space-time assessment of the environmental status of classes for different types of aquatic ecosystems of the study area. Proposed new integral indices of sustainability of natural and human-induced pressures on coastal ecosystems and local methods of priority environmental management of estuaries north-western Black Sea. Recommendations to harmonize national transformed and protected marine ecosystems of Ukraine monitoring methods to European standards. It proposes innovative methods of management of the ecological condition of the coastal local ecosystems, based on a systematic approach and the principles of prioritization of environmental management. The report is set out in sections 6 to 163 pages, illustrated with 66 figures and 40 tables. Bibliography contains 146 references, including 72 Cyrillic and 72 Latin and 2 links to online resources.
