Study Object - breeding of soft winter wheat. Study Purpose - creation of new starting material and, on its basis, of winter wheat varieties resistant to biotic and abiotic environmental factors with further implementation of them in production. Study Methods - hybridization, selection, tests for winter hardiness, resistance to lodging, drought, shedding, diseases and pests, grain quality. Results. Winter wheat varieties were created and submitted to the State variety trials: in 2014 - Pyshna (a universal variety, winter hardiness 7.5 points, drought tolerance 8 points, extraordinary lodging resistance, potential yield capacity 9.0 t/ha, excellent grain quality); in 2015 - Vygadka, Korovaina (intensive varieties, medium high, winter hardiness above the average, high grain quality, yield capacity 9.0 t/ha, resistant to major diseases and lodging). Implementation The introduction of the varieties created in agricultural production will enable increasing the yield capacity and gross yields of the main food crop by 0.4-0.8 t/ha, which will give an opportunity to satisfy domestic and export demand for high quality food and fodder grain
