Complex research on issues of war and the annexation of the Donbass and Crimea was made. Research carried out from the standpoint of national security of Ukraine. Russia's military aggression is seen as a stress test for global and national security and catalyst restart of the foreign policy of Ukraine. The reasons and consequences of a temporary loss of control of some territories of Ukraine are being analized. The position of Ukraine is grounded and approaches of the EU and Russia to resolve the situation in the Donbass during the Minsk process were highlighted. The conditions of reintegration and reconstrucion priorities of Donbass were determined. Ways of overcoming the social consequences of the armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine were outlined. Forecasts of developments around the Donbas and Crimea and scenarios of the future of Ukraine in a globalized world were elaborated.
