Purpose of the research: to develop requirements for the structure and content of the electronic samples for description of the cases for permanent storage that will automate the process of documents preparing for transmission to storage, acceptance and transfer of paper cases and archival electronic cases to state archival institutions, archival departments of city councils and their permanent storage. Methods of the research – general scientific methods: heuristic, method of system analysis and synthesis of scientific research; special methods: archival studies, information process modelling method. Theoretical and practical results: defined the composition of the metadata of the electronic samples for description of the cases for permanent storage, offered their structure and content, created due to these demands XML-format schema XSD. It will standardize the preparation of documents for transmission to archival preservation with various information automated systems, their unified processing and storage in these systems. It will provide acceptance of archival electronic cases and their corresponding paper cases to state archives, archival departments of city councils from records creators. It will provide automating of work with reference system of the National Archival Holdings documents. The novelty of the research: XML-schema of XSD format of the electronic samples for description of the cases for permanent storage is created for the first time. Scope of application: created to develop the etalon XML-schema to apply it in information (automated) systems of state agencies, local governments, enterprises, institutions and organizations of different ownership and public archival institutions, archival departments of city councils to create and validate the metadata of the electronic samples for description of the cases for permanent storage. Implementation efficiency: development of the etalon XML-schema due to the defined requirements will standardize XML-schemes implemented in the electronic document management system, based on a single dictionary and unify the processes of creation and validation of XML-documents by these schemes.
