The research work was carried out in the direction of solving environmental problems of the Dnieper region, which demanded the consideration of such issues:energy aspects of sustainable development of Ukraine, energy efficiency opportunities in the state, provides guidance on this issue; the characteristics of steelmaking and its impact on the environment, pollution in the cities and the country as a whole, the study of methods of their solution by improving the technology of production and processing; evaluation of urban soils by determining first the impact of the devastating impacts of construction activities on the structure of the soil profile, water-physical and agrochemical parameters of soil fertility, and secondly, pollution by heavy metals in the process of ecosystem functioning to establish the degree of toxicity to biota. The results of the quality assessment of life safety in the direction of "Social infrastructure". Addressed issues of utilization of industrial wastes, the study of properties of building materials from slag silico. It analyses the state of atmospheric air in Dnepropetrovsk and the sources of pollution , recommendations are given for reducing emissions to the atmosphere5481
