An analysis of European and domestic experience of regions' ranking determination has been conducted in which it was found that for defining the competitiveness of Ukrainian regions most suitable are methods based on the use of statistical information: European Competitiveness Index and the annual Global Competitiveness Index. On the ground of the analysis of the European and national experience, the basic principles and steps for calculating regional rankings has been formed. The results of indicators' calculation provide an opportunity for assessment of the competitiveness of regional groups and determination of the Integral Competitiveness Index.
