The objective: Development of deposition processes of quality carbon nanostructured protective anti-friction coatings for rotating sealings of a new generation of pump and compressor pressure equipment for nuclear power plants.The report analyzes the performance requirements for protective anti-friction coatings on the units of dry gas dynamic seals (GDS) and in accordance with this justified the need for modernization of existing equipment for the deposition of the carbon coatings on GDS of 120 mm diameter.The modernization of equipment for deposition nanostructured diamond coatings by plasma-chemical method allowed to increase the size of the substrate coated from the diameter of 50 mm to 120 mm and thus allow the deposition of diamond coatings on GDS elements of appropriate diameter. Modernization of the "Progress-M" setup for the deposition of nanostructured diamond-like coatings by vacuum-arc method improved the deposition rate of diamond-like coating to 4-5 microns / hour, a titanium layer to 6 microns / hour that are acceptable when applying protective coatings on GDS elements of 120 mm diameter. Sets of the experimental silicon carbide specimens with the diamond and diamond-like coatings were manufactured at modernized equipment; on the results of their characterization the ranges of pretreatment and coating deposition parameters were revealed which promote the improved mechanical properties of the GDS elements with the protective coatings. Tests of the specimens fulfilled at the enterprise "Grace Inzineering" (Sumy) indicate the prospects of using the developed coatings in GDS produced at the plant.Thus, the results of the work permit to move to the next step of the project: process optimization of protective anti-friction nanostructured diamond and diamond-like coatings deposition on components of GDS sealings of 120 mm diameter.
