Karazin popup.description2 The object of study: non-equilibrium plasma of low and atmospheric pressure in pulsed electric fields. Objective: Development of physical basics for the creation of a new generation of innovative technologies and equipment based on pulsed discharges. Research method: complex experimental and theoretical studies of a wide range of pulsed discharges. The report presents the results of experimental studies of pulsed electrical discharges. Current and voltage waveforms of the pulsed discharge in a wide frequency range (20 to 300 kHz), fill factors of 15 to 85% were measured for different pressure values of the four different gas - nitrogen, oxygen, CF4 and SF6. It has been found that the current waveform of the pulsed glow discharge has a plasma phase and an afterglow phase. It is shown that the current in a pulsed discharge in electronegative gases can be substantially increased compared with the current of the discharge with a constant voltage. At a frequency of 20 kHz and a pressure of 0.1 Torr, the maximum gain (the ratio of discharge current to pulsed current at the constant voltage) is obtained for the most electronegative gas - SF6, amplification occurs 6-8 times. For CF4 gain is about 4 times, and for nitrogen and oxygen the current gain is the lowest compared with other gases - only 2-fold. For a frequency of 100 kHz and a pressure of 0.1 Torr low current gain (approximately 2 fold) was observed for oxygen; nitrogen is the following (2-3 times); CF4 (3-4 times) and SF6 (8-9 times). At a gas pressure of 1 Torr, a frequency of 20 kHz the gain factors for oxygen and nitrogen are approximately 1-2 times. For CF4 it is 4-5, and for the SF6 it is 5-15 times.
