Karazin popup.description2 Object of research is discursive interaction of representatives of the English, German and other lingua-cultures, and its subject is verbal and non-verbal means that constitute this interaction acquiring meaning in the context of discourse. Research objective is multi-aspectual study of the verbal (language and speech) means of discursive interaction of representatives of the Roman-Germanic lingua-cultures with due consideration of latest works in the theory of discourse, cognitive semantics, pragmatics, cultural studies, semiotics, functional stylistics, sociolinguistics, and practical application of the obtained results in translation studies and methods of teaching foreign communication and translation. Methodological basis of research is the anthropocentric approach to language and speech studies which challenges the idea of meaning as an inherent property of a linguistic unit and proposes an understanding of meaning as construed in the act of discursive interaction. This study substantiates: basic theoretic and methodological foundations of cognitive-discursive studies; B.
