As a result of this implementation phase have been developed model of bleeding fromvessels of large diameter and parenchymal organs that allow to do reproducible experiment to study the hemostatic activity of medical devices. It is proved that the sorption of the liquid portion of the blood has not depending on the type of chitosan material, while the molecular weight of the chitosan influences significantly to thrombotic processes. Materials with a molecular weight of 200 kDa cause platelet adhesion on their surface and activated them, which appears to change the form of the blood components. It is proved that the haemostatic mechanism of chitosan also consists in changing the erythrocyte membrane permeability, which leads to a change in their shape and formation spherocytes and their subsequent aggregation.5481
