The model for calculation of electron redistribution between tunnel-coupled quantum wells in the heterostructures based on III-V semiconductor compounds (GaAs/AlGaAs InGaAs/GaAs) is proposed and the software pack enabling to calculate transport properties with accounting for this effect is developed. The recommendations for applied use of this effect with a view to obtain current oscillations and terahertz electromagnetic radiation are given.
