The results of investigations of the hot charge carriers redistribution in the real space in the heterostructures with different kinds of coupled quantum wells and the effects caused by this phenomenon are presented. The model for calculation of electron redistribution between tunnel-coupled quantum wells in the heterostructures based on III-V semiconductor compounds (GaAs/AlGaAs InGaAs/GaAs) is proposed and the software pack enabling to calculate transport properties with accounting for this effect is developed. The recommendations for applied use of this effect with a view to obtain current oscillations and terahertz electromagnetic radiation are given.
