Object of research - elastic couplings, two-engine drives of drum mills, columns of machines. The purpose - development of calculation techniques and mathematical models of drum mill drive mechanical system, the stress and strain state of machine constructions for the purpose of improvement of their calculation techniques. Research methods - calculated. The method of calculation of dynamic characteristics of hydropneumatic couplings is improved. The statics and dynamics of drum mill drives with two engines is investigated. Regularities of distribution of loading between engines, dynamics of start-up and the set operating mode are defined. With use of the finite element method the stress and strain state of a calender column and the principles of reduction of its metal consumption at preservation of the bearing ability is investigated.
