The purpose of the work is to increase the efficiency of the process of computer training and distance education through ontological engineering of educational disciplines. Methods of research - a method of system analysis - to conduct a study of the state of the problem; set theory - for the formalization of tasks in a subject area; ontological engineering - for designing a test task of a discipline; methods of mathematical statistics - for the processing of experimental data. The ways of implementation of ontologies in the systems of e-learning and distance education are determined, and the model of the test questionnaire ontology is developed. With the help of the developed model of the ontology of the test question, a test questions database for the discipline "Data Structures and Algorithms" was created and experimental tests were conducted involving the students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics. On the basis of the results of the research, an ontology of the test question was developed that integrates into e-learning systems to increase the effectiveness of the learning process and release the teacher's time from routine work. Implementation of the developed technology allows to automate the creation of content for e-learning and distance education systems, namely, to expand existing test questions banks, to automate the process of student knowledge control.
