In 2016, the employees of the department defined and specified the principles of the psycho-pedagogical conditions of integration of the content of the competence-based model of natural sciences education at high school, developed: 1) a manual for teachers "Methods of teaching natural sciences in high school" (compiled by V. R. Ilchenko, K. Zh. Huz, O. S. Hrynyuk, A. Kh. Lyashenko) which includes the didactic system for ensuring integrated education for high school learning of environment for the integrated course of natural sciences, especially the formation of natural science concepts; methods and forms of training that are specific to the integrated teaching of natural sciences; features of the methodology of teaching modules in a integrated course; 2) the structure and the content of modules of the previous version of the textbook "Natural -11"; the essence of natural science competencies as students' ability to operate the general laws of nature and experimentally proved the possibility of mastering such competence by the students. The formative and the control experiments were carried out; the effectiveness of the course "Natural Sciences -11", its orientation at the development of students' natural-scientific world, integrity, knowledge of nature, personally meaningful knowledge systems that is the image of nature and natural science competence were experimentally proved. Advantages and complexity of teaching content of "Natural Sciences" in the high school were found out by the teachers of physics, chemistry and biology in accordance with a modular approach that lies in the course. Modules are taught sequentially (generally natural, physical, astronomical, chemical, biological and environmental ones) are combined in integrity based on general concepts of the Natural sciences module that comprises concepts of science. At the end of the 2015 - 2016 academic year, in the experimental schools, a pilot project for checking knowledge was conducted through testing, text control, the content of which corresponds to the current programs in physics, astronomy, chemistry, biology and ecology, approved by the MES. The results of the generalizing control work indicated that the contents of all four modules was mastered at high enough levels by 32-28% of students on average 49-50%. It is necessary to clarify the text of the textbook modules. The results of the 2016 study were 13 articles and 6 abstracts that were published. The department actively participated in 2 international scientific conferences, international exhibition, 2 All-Ukrainian scientific conferences, 1 round table discussion, organized and hold one Ukrainian scientific-practical conference with international participation.
