The aim of the research was to determine and study a range of problems in the field of English philology, theory and practice of translation which are of conceptual and methodological relevance for future specialists in Philology and Translation. The research employed the methods of contrastive, translatological, contextual, morphological, syntactical, linguostylistic, transformational analysis and statistical method. The study of language and translation teaching techniques involved experimental methods, testing, questionnaires and simulation. Theoretical outcomes of the research include definition of those linguistic, cultural and pragmastylistic characteristics of texts representing various discourses which are relevant for training future translators. Another significant outcome is the development of methodological foundations for shaping professional competencies of future translators and interpreters for aviation industry.
