Extension of the increased export duty on ferrous scrap at 30 euros per tonne will increase the domestic harvesting of scrap (by 57.1%), production of machine building (by 0.4%) and ferrous metals (by 2.8%) in the medium-term, as well as increase the tax revenues to the state budget (by 47.6 million USD) and increase the number of employed population by 0.12%. In the conditions of returning to the export duty at the level of 10 euros / t, significant recovery is expected to the volume of scrap exports and further decline in domestic production that uses scrap as raw material.
