Research purpose: theoretical ground and experimental verification of forming of educational activity of of students with mental retardation in the conditions of reformation of education. Research methods. To ensure the accuracy of the provisions and conclusions and to solve the tasks of the study, it is envisaged to use a set of methods, including theoretical ones: analysis (logical and theoretical, comparative) of psychological and pedagogical literature to reveal the essence and peculiarities of the development of didactic and methodological support for the implementation of the content of education for children with mental retardation development and definition of basic concepts; educational-didactic literature related to the education of children in elementary and primary schools in Ukraine and abroad; empirical: psychological and pedagogical observation, questioning, testing, analysis of pupils' works and educational-methodical documentation, psychological and pedagogical experiment. During the reporting period, the following tasks were implemented: 1. The analysis of the results of the implementation of scientific and methodological and didactic training and provide initial and primary level of education of children with mental retardation. 2. Educational and methodical manuals were prepared: "Educational activities of schoolchildren with mental retardation: theory and practice", "Technology of formation of communication between children with mental retardation" and methodical recommendations "Formation of interpersonal relationships in adolescents with mental retardation". 3. Monitoring of the implementation of research results has been monitored. The results of the research work are introduced into the practice of work: special general schools for children with mental retardation, inclusive classes, educational and rehabilitation centers.
