Scope of research: the role and capabilities of educational institution in the system of the state information security. Purpose of research: to define and specify the role of the educational institution in formation of the system of the state information security. Research methods are analysis and synthesis, logical generalization, typologization, comparative study, legal base and documents analysis; the survey conducted with the method of structured interview and focused group interview, methods of system analysis, institutional, neoinsitutional and sociocultural analysis, secondary analysis of social data. Research results: Clarification of the state information security interpretation in the context of education institution activities and communication space of the modern society (as information and communication security). Based on combination of system, institutional, neoinsitutional and sociocultural approaches we have developed methodology strategy for studying the role of education institution for ensuring the state information security. We have developed conceptual basis for determining the threats in the information sphere of the state taking into consideration new tools of information wars as well as information, communication and media practices of the modern youth both in terms of education system and outside it. It was revealed that main functional capabilities of the education institution in the system of ensuring the state information security should be based on the development of critical thinking, forming of media and information and digital competence in particular in terms of e-learning development. Research results have been introduced into the educational process. The findings of the study serve as a conceptual guideline for educational policy and can be used for improving management capacity of the education management bodies and entities and for further developing scientific provision of information security of Ukraine in the socio-humanitarian dimension Product Description popup.authors Жовнір А.
