In this paper setting up a problem of modeling the process of the action of a powerful electromagnetic field to the semiconductor elements taking into account their topology is formulated. The featurtes and specificity of a thermal effect of the action are considered. The methods of ensuring the survivability of information and communication systems (IKS) are investigated. On the basis of the analysis an experimental plant for testing the effect of an electromagnetic field to the semiconductor elements of the ICS has been developed. Methods of compression of pulses of a microwave electromagnetic field for generating ultrashort pulses with a high peak power are determined.
