The purpose of the research is to theoretically substantiate and test the content, forms and methods of labor education of junior schoolchildren in conditions of reforming primary education. Research methods: theoretical: study, analysis and generalization of philosophical, psychological and pedagogical literature on the research problem with the purpose of determining the theoretical foundations of the chosen topic, developing scientific approaches to determining the essence of the basic concepts and substantiating the content, forms and methods of labor education of junior schoolchildren in the context of reforming the primary education; analysis of documentation, methodological materials, regulatory documents; empirical: diagnostic (traditional and modified test methods) observational (monitoring the behavior of students in the process of learning, studying the results of schoolchildren's activities, interviews, surveys, questionnaires, interviews); Forming: ascertaining and forming experiment, a technique of psychological and pedagogical designing; statistical methods of mathematical statistics (when processing experimental data); monitoring the implementation of results. In 2017, the organizational and exploratory stage of the research was carried out. Its main results: the analysis of policy documents, research materials, literature of the scientific-methodical and educational directions, other sources, generalized experience of pedagogical practice; a research program was developed; the structure of the concept of the value relationship of younger schoolchildren to work has been developed, criteria and indicators of formation have been established; a selection of methods for diagnosis; the technique of the ascertaining stage was developed; the ascertaining experiment was conducted.
