The theoretical bases for the implementation of the updated program content in the basic school are substantiated: correction-development orientation of education, practical interdisciplinary orientation, priority of social and communicative adaptability and student's personality integrability (Kobylchenko V., Kostenko T., Hudym I., Dovgopolaya K., Legkiy O., Kondratenko S.). The model of the adaptive potential of the personality is described, where the reflexive and resource components are described, the model of psychological and pedagogical accompaniment of junior pupils with visual impairments, which reveals the pedagogical support of the child with visual impairment at a certain stage of its development and psychological assistance to her and her closest person in overcoming personality and interpersonal problems, and difficulties (Kobylchenko V.). The theoretical substantiation and development of educational and methodological support for the content of visual activity of junior pupils with visual impairments and the teaching and methodological and didactic provision of the content of mathematical education for children with visual impairment (Kostenko T.) have been developed. The main tendencies of the formation and implementation of correctional and developmental work are determined and its directions are stated. The conditions of realization of certain directions are described, where the "development correction" is realized through the cognitive, emotional components of the child's personal development; "Social and domestic orientation" is realized through the development of representations and the formation of practical skills of interaction with the immediate environment and the formation of basic social competences of the disciple with visual impairment; "Spatial orientation" is aimed at work on the development of spatial ideas and skills based on stored analyzers (Kostenko T., Hudym I., Dovgopolaya K., Legkiy O., Kondratenko S.). The technologies of correction and development work on development of speech of children with blind and low vision are substantiated; theoretical foundations of the integrative technology of psychological and pedagogical support of junior pupils with visual impairment; theoretical foundations of the organization of visual activity of junior pupils with visual impairment; methodical foundations of textbook creation and methods of organizing classes for forming relief drawing skills for blind (Kobylchenko V., Kostenko T., Hudym I., Dovgopolaya K., Legkiy O., Kondratenko S.).
