The publications on the problem under consideration are analyzed. Comparative bench tests of a diesel engine using standard fuel oil and a mixture (oil + biocomponent based on aliphatic alcohols and sunflower oil) of different composition are carried out. The power, economic and ecological parameters of the engine for the types of fuel were obtained.
