Analysis about modern approaches, technologies and equipment which used to transform vegetable and animal triglycerides into alternative diesel fuel (biodiesel) was collected and analyzed. Available information about catalysts and kinetics features of triglycerides transesterification by alcohols is systematized. Particular attention is paid to state and perspectives of biodiesel production in Ukraine and also EU and CIS countries.
