Polymers are capable of delivering plasmid DNA in protoplasts of moss Ceratodon rurpureus. The PCR method confirmed that the transformants of C. purpureus transformants have the desired construct. Polymers do not possess genotoxic and mutagenic activity (it has not been revealed the ability of polymeric carriers to induce the appearance of gene mutations in the Ames test and to increase in the frequency of chromosomal aberrations and microcurrents in Allium cepa ).
