Ways of improving the functioning of the UPT due to the upgrading of stops by equipment operating on the basis of smart-technologies are developed. Improved definition of "risk" given the current views and theories of foreign and domestic scientists, nature and characteristics of risk. Further developed: scientific and methodical approach to the definition of the tariff for bus passenger transportation; theoretical and methodical approach to the identification of risk, its assessment and minimization of negative influence; outlined the perspectives and main trends of the smart accounting system development using the latest information technologies in urban passenger transport; the activity of urban passenger transport of the regions of Ukraine is analyzed and the variational innovative strategies of urban passenger transport development are formed as a way of its improvement and structuring; outlined the objective and subjective problems of the operation of the IPT and based on the system approach, suggested ways to effectively address the problems of urban transport systems.
