Archaeological research was carried out on the site of the western fencing fortifications of the former Zolochivsky middle ground near the church of St. Nicholas on the street. Govoy for the condition of their safety and preparation for the improvement of this site. The area of ??22.5 square meters was investigated, a collection of time-consuming artifacts was discovered, including discos and coins of the XVII century. The remains of 20 graves and more than 10 re-burials of the preserved cemetery were discovered within the trench. The depth of the clay layer was up to 1 m. The oldest artifacts date back to the XVI-XVII centuries. From ancient fortifications there are traces of artificial formation of the slope of the earthly escarpment. Traces of terrestrial structures were not detected. the formation of fortifications in accordance with the ancient relief has been established. The chapel cemetery functioned for a long period from the 16th to the 18th centuries
