The survival of the society and at the same time his perspective are the position and activities of young people in society. What values accepts and rejects students of contemporary Ukraine as they connect with the values of the "fathers" that prevailed in the society for a long time - the main problem of modern youth socialization . The research object is College students of higher agricultural education institutions. The purpose of the study is the clarification of attitudes and hierarchy of values among students of agrarian higher education institutions, the basic ways and peculiarities of their formation. Theoretical and methodological basis of the research are, first of all, the classical methodological approaches that are used for the analysis of problems of formation of youth, problems of man, his formation as a personality, formation of Outlook, moral qualities, General culture, etc, respecting the principles of historicism, objectivity, consistency and integrity, causality and forecasting. In the process of the research we used methods of concrete historical approach, comparative analysis. Scientific novelty of research consists in development of methodology and technique of formation of valuable orientations of modern students. In particular, the article studies process of formation of universal human values of students in a transformational society. The essence of concepts "value" and "patriotism" in the worldview of students of higher agrarian educational establishments. The main factors of the process of their formation. Analyzed the role of education, particularly socio-humanitarian disciplines, in the formation of the consciousness and culture of the student. Studied in detail the characteristics of the modern social environment in the conditions and under the influence of which formed the human values of young people, factors that impede this process. The following conclusions were made. The modern process of transformation of Ukrainian society has a significant influence on the mass consciousness of Ukrainian student youth. The change of ownership, ideological pluralism, development of democratic institutions, election authorities led to the formation in their minds of a new system of values. To a lesser extent these changes have affected traditional values such as family, friends, religion, etc. moreover, the significance of these values has been increasing, since it is in the values young people seek protection from life's difficulties. At the same time, the youth show a rather low capacity of social self-organization, and potential social activity in society is relatively small. There is a necessity of increase of political culture of youth in General. The main system-forming factors of increase of level of political culture within the political socialization of student's youth should be targeted actions of state and public institutions, including higher education institutions, with the aim of attracting young people to the traditions, values, political life, formation of the qualities of a politically active person. Practical value of research is determined to be reasonable based on the study recommendations on organization of activity of students in transformative social environment, modernization of educational process in higher agricultural educational establishments, implementation of the results obtained in the process of teaching of disciplines, especially socio-humanitarian profile.
