Information × Registration Number 0218U006888, 0116U008069 , R & D reports Title Nanostructurized and polycrystalline RE-contained materials for scintillators, sensors and energy saving technologies popup.stage_title Head Shpotyuk Yaroslav Olehovych, Registration Date 05-10-2018 Organization Ivan Franko National University of Lviv popup.description2 The aim of the work is the purposeful modification of characteristics and properties of sensor materials and devices on their base, which includes: determination of interconnections between conditions of synthesis, defect structure and features of the optical-luminescent characteristics in nano-objects of gallate and tungstate oxides; obtaining of high-efficient environments of chalcogenide glasses; cuprates and manganetes with RE metals and modification of their crystalline structure by partial substitution of atoms; anode materials of lithium and metal-hydride rechargeable batteries for achievement of higher specific characteristics, lower price and better cycle lifetime with respect to conventional industrial samples. Investigation methods – synthesis of experimental samples, X-ray diffraction analysis of phase and structure, microstructural, local X-ray and luminescent spectral analyses, electrochemical hydration, differential scanning calorimetry, spectroscopy of the deep levels. The conditions for the synthesis of complex cuprates and manganates by the solid-phase reaction method have been selected and optimized in order to obtain qualitative polycrystalline specimens. The structure of successfully synthesized MgGa2O4, MgGa2O4: Mn, MgGa2O4: Mn, Eu, Zn Ga2O4: Mn, Zu Ga2O4: Mn, Eu, Mg1-xZnx Ga2O4: Mn and Mg1-xZnxGa2O4: Mn, Eu samples was established and confirmed. The REM and TEM images showed the homogeneity of the samples obtained and the uniform distribution of RE impurities in the volume of ceramics. Increasing of the hardness and Young's module was found in the glass systems of Gax(As0.40Se0.60)100-хwith increasing of Ga concentration. The positron trapping dominates in the inner cavities between the pyramidal complexes AsSe3/2 in glasses that contains the Ga less than 3 atm. %. An increase in lifetime from 0.360 to 0.382 ns associates with defects was observed. The interaction of components in SrO-R2O3-MnO, Ba-Mn-O, R-Mn-O, BaO-Tb2O3-CuO, Ce-Zr-Sb, Gd-Zr-Sb systems was studied. (Sr, R) FeO3 (R = Tb, Ho, Er) are new compounds with the structure of perovskite were synthesized. Intermetallic phases have been synthesized and investigated, which can be used in lithium and metal hydride accumulators. Their electrochemical behavior in the role of anodic materials is studied. Significant positive influence of doping with Sn on charge-discharge characteristics has been revealed.
