Purpose: theoretical substantiation of integral conception of practical preparation of a psychologist in the professional training system. Research methods: theoretical - analysis, generalization and systematization of theoretical approaches and empirical results contained in scientific literature; empirical - observation, interview, analysis of activity products, testing; mathematical and statistical processing methods of obtaining results. Statistical data processing was carried out using the computer program SPSS v 13.0 for Windows. Scientific novelty: For the first time, the integral conception of the practical preparation of a psychologist in educational and professional activity was theoretically substantiated and developed on the basis of the principles of subjectivity, processing and operationalization; - the advisability of practical preparation of a psychologist in the communicative paradigm was argued; - it was shown that the formation of the professional competence of a psychologist is a function of the interactive attitudes of the subjects and obtaining results; - it was determined that the competence of a psychologist in the professional training system is potentially a function of the dialogical relations between teacher and students in the pedagogical process; - it was developed a model for the practical preparation of a psychologist in the professional training system; - there were revealed the peculiarities of the influence of interactive dialogical systems in the educational and professional activity. It was deepened the understanding of the formation of the psychologist activity in the professional training system as a complex phenomenon, professional in content and interactively dialogical in form, which has signs of belonging to the problems of the individual psychology, consciousness, activity, and also of the problem of teaching. The position on the psychodiagnostic method as a common object mediating the interpersonal relations between teacher and students in practical preparation was substantiated. Practical significance. The results can be used by specialists in the field of higher school psychology, the theory and methodology of professional education for the further development of psychological and pedagogical researches, and also in the educational process within the university. The main findings can be included in the content of relevant lecture and practical classes by the topics "Psychology of personality", "Psychology of activity", "Psychology of consciousness". Efficiency of implementation. The results of the research were approved at 8 international and 11 Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences, presented in 155 publications. 5 Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences were organized and holded.
