The development pertains to apparatuses of electron beam technology. More particularly, it relates to electron beam projectors (guns) for electron beam heating, melting and evaporation of materials in a vacuum or reactive gas atmosphere. Design description and key components of PE 124 electron beam projector provided with a linear thermionic emitting cathode for electron beam heating. Advantage of the electron beam projector PE 124 is increased life-time of the linear thermionic emitting cathode (around 100 hours), which is more than 2 times greater in compare with previous design. PH 124 electron beam projector incorporates: beam guide, comprising an electromagnetic system, with accelerating anode fastened to it via bearings, which is connected bv high-voltage insulators via a cathodic plate with cathode assembly, which incorporates a linear thermionic emitting cathode fastened in cathode holders, and focusing electrode. Joint optical axis of the cathode assembly and accelerated anode is deflected from optical axes of the beam guide in the range 10-30° for increasing of service life-time of the linear thermionic emitting cathode by sating of all dimensions of the electron beam projector.
