The method of mathematical statistics, the graphic method, the method of synthesis and analysis, the method of the system approach, the automated design, etc. were used to achieve the goals set forth in the work. Main scientific results of work. A comparison of the progressive model of waste management, which is inherent in developed countries, and the existing domestic approach according to priority of measures is carried out. It is established that according to the progressive vision of solving the problem, the minimization, ie prevention of formation, reuse, recycling and utilization (including energy recovery), comes to the fore. The authors reveal the problem of the technogenic loading on the economy, the solution of which requires effective management measures on at all levels of the functioning of the national economy. The experience of the formation and implementation of sustainable development policy, in particular in developed countries, which significantly reduced the negative impact on the environment, in particular through the development of recycling of polymer waste, was summarized. The necessity of minimizing the dependence on resource factors, which essentially actualizes the problem of the development of recycling, is argued. The model of household waste management in the context of the development of urban infrastructure of Ukraine is proposed, which involves the introduction of a transitional system of separate collection of waste (division into food and solid components) with the subsequent transition to the most progressive form (content distribution of solid fraction by main groups) in the context of the implementation of the cluster approach for the transition of the domestic economy to an ecologically oriented resource-product extended life cycle. Recommendations for using work results. The results of the work can be applied within the framework of Phase I of the National Strategy for Waste Management in Ukraine until 2030 (Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated November 8, 2017, No. 820-p).
