The edition consists of two parts. In the first part the authors tried to understand how the Ukrainian national movement of the first part of the XX century related to the notion of something else, with another cultural features, but who lived with them; Ukrainian language as a language of communication and state language; the political dimension of the national consensus search during the Ukrainian Revolution 1917-1923; the creation of the Ukrainian Army and the practice of interconnectivity in the army; domestic measurement of national consensus. In the second part the authors presented a set of sources, which are an evidentiary basis for illustrating of theoretical concepts and practices in finding by Ukrainians a model of interethnic consensus in March 1917 - January 1918; some documents illustrate the practical implementation of the "ideas and slogans" of their opponents. Part of the document is given for the first time.
