An analysis of literary sources and stock materials of the Institute of Hydrobiology of the species diversity of hydrobionts in the river Shopurka river and the ecological state of massifs of surface water bodies has been carried out. The modern and perspective sources of contamination of surface water massifs are determined. A generalized comprehensive assessment of the current ecological status of the river and a forecast of the impact on its aquatic ecosystems of the planned activity is carried out. A program for monitoring aquatic ecosystems in the construction and operation of five MHPs on the river Shopurka within the limits of the river is developed Velikiy Bychkov, Rakhiv district, Transcarpathian region
