New 3-formylchromones containing in position 6 or 7 substitutes of different electronic nature were synthesized. For the first time it was found that in the presence of lower alcohols used as a solvent during complexation they form with salts of europium (III) the chelates of composition of EuR3, luminescing both in solutions and in a solid state, while in the environment of dioxane, acetone, DМFА, DМSО and acetonitrile formation of chelates is not observed. Thus, the non-trivial mechanism of formation chelates of 3-formylchromones in a spirit environment through intermediate semiacetales is offered. Production other basic organic chemicals.
