The purpose of the study is to investigate the features of negative psychic manifestations (in frequency, PTSD) among veterans, as well as to determine the effectiveness of participation in funeral ceremonies for improving mental health. The object of the study is the phenomenon of PTSD, its causes and symptoms. To solve the problems, we used the methods of questioning, interviewing and mathematical statistics. The research was conducted within the framework of the agreement on scientific cooperation between the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine and the University of Grenoble Alps. The study consisted of an analysis of the survey of two groups of veterans, selected by age, socio-educational level, sometimes carried out in operations and perception of the intensity of traumatic events. After data collection, participants with history of stroke and / or neurocognitive impairment in self-report were not saved for further analysis. For all participants, the significance of PTSD symptoms was checked using the PCLS scale as well as psychological distress (psychological depression) using the BSI scale.
