In the course of the work both General scientific and special research methods were used: - theoretical character: analysis, synthesis, classification and review-analytical method. The use of these methods made it possible to study the developments in this area, to review and analyze the data obtained by other scientists in order to further systematize them; - empirical character: a) methods of visual psychodiagnostics: were used in connection with the limitations of the classical psychodiagnostic study with rescuers-participants ATO and allowed to determine the psychological characteristics of the investigated by external signs; b) the method of observation: used, on the one hand, for the primary collection of psychological information about the subjects, on the other hand, - to collect the main body of empirical data, the generalization of which, in the future, allowed to use them in the process of building the main conclusions of the study; C) the method of interpretation of related phenomena: was used for: (1) obtaining the most complete picture of the conditions of combat activity of the studied rescue service employees; (2) understanding and forecasting of possible complications and their impact on the psycho-emotional state of the ATO rescuers; (3) search for resources that will help rescuers to recover; (4) avoiding unwanted additional psychotraumatization; e) the method of questioning: was used to collect the socio-demographic characteristics of the studied-specialists of emergency rescue units of the SES of Ukraine; f) method of conversation: it was used to collect additional information from both the rescuers themselves and the members of the expert group on the peculiarities of the experience of the rescuers of the traumatic event, which was the stay in the ATO zone. Also, with the help of the conversation, the collection of information about related phenomena, which in one way or another could predetermine the occurrence and development of undesirable negative manifestations in the studied; g) the method of the survey was used to obtain additional information about the state of rescuers and to determine the characteristics of their experience of memories of participation in the ATO; (C) the method of expert assessment: the purpose of drawing up a more extended list of markers, signs characterizing the consequences, changes occurring with rescuers after their participation in the ATO and to assess these markers in terms of their presence in the specialists of the emergency and rescue units of Ukraine; (C) the psychodiagnostic method presented in the study of the battery of the following psychodiagnostic methods: a) "Forecast-2" (V. Rybnikov, 1990) methodology was used to identify individual traits of personality disorders and evaluation of the probability of occurrence of neuropsychiatric breakdowns of rescuers; b) a Clinical questionnaire for detection and evaluation of neurotic States (K. K. Yakhin, D. M. Mendelevich) is used to determine the level of severity of the alarm to the lifeguard, signs of neurotic depression, asthenic manifestations, autonomic and obsessive-phobic disorders; C) Methods for diagnostics of indicators of forms of aggression A. bass and A. Dark (adaptation of A. K. Osickova) is used for the diagnosis of aggressive and hostile reactions among the studied; g) the traumatic stress Questionnaire (I. A. CONV) was used to diagnose the state of the squad after exposure to stress factors of the ATO; e) Colour test of relations (A. M. Etkind) - non-verbal diagnostic method for the study of emotional components of attitudes (both conscious and partly unconscious levels) of personality has allowed to study the patterns of migration rescuers emotional values of colors to associate stimuli; there are Symbolic tasks to identify the "Social I" - "the Self Social Symbols Tasks" (G. Ziller, G. Henderson) - the projective technique was aimed at studying the components of the self-concept of the rescuer. Projective indicators are used for the analysis of self-attitude, self-assessment, self-identity and social interest of the studied; g) Questionnaire of post-traumatic growth (T. Calhoun, adapt. M. sh. Magomed-Eminova) was aimed at measuring the level of post-traumatic growth of the personality of the rescuer-ATO participant; - methods of mathematical statistics. To identify the level of significance in the differences of the compared indicators, the student's t-test, Fisher's criterion (Fisher's angular transformation), Pearson's R-criterion correlation analysis and factor analysis were used.
