The purpose of the study was to identify mechanisms of intercellular communication in the brain under stress conditions, changes in dietary habits and metabolic disorders. For research, newest experimental models of stress and metabolic disorders of various etiologies in animals have been created. The adequacy with clinical data has been proven. By using the immunoassay analysis with the panel of antibodies to neurospecific proteins and specific conjugates to glycosaminoglycans, the key regulatory elements of BBB and neuron-glial communication in brain and PNS were analyzed. The correlation between the studied biochemical parameters in the brain and the modulation of the cognitive function were determined. For the first time, the glial cells response to retinopathy after stress and metabolism damage of the different etiologies has been investigated. Against the background of insignificant changes in the overall biochemical analysis and decrease in functional activity of the liver, 36% of the BBB decrease in patients who was in the zone of military action. The proposed immunochemical micromethod for the determination of S100b in the blood for monitoring the state of BBB. Positive effect of natural antioxidants (alpha-ketoglutarate and humic acids) as neuroprotective substances was proved. The potential clients of the results of this research work are clinical and diagnostic units and clinical establishments of Ukraine.
