The object of the study is servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The purpose of the work is to substantiate the scientific and methodical approaches regarding the appointment and use of requirements to candidates for positions on the basis of the methods of professional education and to determine the procedure for using the requirements for candidates for positions of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the preparation of personnel decisions. The novelty of the research work is the implementation of the developed professiograms during the development (refinement) and the use of passports for military positions. For solving the tasks, methods of system analysis, synthesis, expert evaluations, modeling of personnel management technologies were used. The presented results are related to previous researches conducted by the Scientific-methodical center of personnel policy of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine within the limits of scientific research works: "Professionalization", "Priority", "Process", "Potential", "Complex", "Support". As a result of the research the following main results were obtained: scientific and methodological approaches regarding the appointment and use of requirements for candidates for positions of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the system of personnel management; informational and analytical materials on the experience of the armed forces of the leading countries of the world and the civil sector of Ukraine on the procedure for the development and use of documents defining the requirements for candidates for positions of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; the algorithm of the application of professional methods for the development of documents defining the requirements for candidates for positions of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; the procedure for the use of documents defining the requirements for candidates for positions of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the personnel management system; proposals for amendments to the normative legal documents regulating the procedure for the application of passports for military positions; a draft Methodological Recommendations on the Procedure for the Development and Application of Passports for Military Positions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The practical significance of the research work is to develop a draft order of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding the Regulation on the passport of the military position of the officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the draft Methodological Recommendations on the Procedure for the Development and Application of Passports for Military Positions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
